Short Sip- Coffee House Flash Fiction

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Flash fiction covering all genres. This is a collection of
stories to be enjoyed by everyone, please keep excessive cussing and sex out
unless integral to your character.
WHAT WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR:
Slash and hack, blood and gore for their own sake. Graphic rape,
torture, child abuse, and animal torture have their place, but not here.
We prefer stories written in the third person—will consider first person if you knock our socks off. **NO Reprints**
Looking for short stories in the 500- 1,500 word range.
Payment exposure. This is a 4 The Luv anthology..
Submissions will be accepted until August 30, 1011 or filled, whichever is first.

No headers or footers
No hidden formatting
Standard tabs
No extra spaces before and after paragraphs
Center *** for scene breaks
Submissions pasted in the body of email will be rejected, unread
Failure to follow submission guidelines will result in a rejection

A little friendly reminder: This Anthology is for 2011. Those of you subbing now will be waiting for some time. If you haven't subbed to Cup of Joe, but have subbed to Short Sips, I encourage you to withdraw from Short Sips and resub to Cup of Joe-that way you aren't waiting for over a year. :)

This may be WAY early for this but I was curious. Are you planning on listing this anthology with Duotrope's as soon as the deadline passes for Cup of Joe?

Yes, I think I will. There are already several submissions for the 2011, which is surprising--not all of the authors even have one in Cup of Joe! But I will get this one listed with Duotrope about the time Cup of Joe goes to print.Jessica,

For everyone included in "Cup Of Joe"--if you are interested in continuing with the WEP Coffee House books, you can send your flash in for this one. You will get an auto reply and I will get to the slush folder in a month or so. (Can't wait too much longer or I'll be overwhelmed! lol)

This is open for submissions but response time will be longer because it is NEXT years flash collection.

I've got one or two pieces that might be a good fit, if I can just hoist them up out of their bins, slap them around a bit, fill their mouths with brandy and rose petals, upend them into the meat grinder and crank crank crank gooooosh it all goes sloshing down through the grates into the river.
Then start over and write something unrelated and hopefully worth anthologizing.

Quite a few submissions have been piling up for nearly a year (oh my!) for this. I'd like to remind everyone that this is a 2011 open until filled. Response time will be much longer than usual. With the problems we are experiencing with the first volume, there will be harsher regulations and rules with this one. Sorry.

I've got a weird little piece ready for submission. Would you recommend I hold off until the current issues with volume 1 are resolved, and your new guidelines are posted? You may not need another story staring at you from your inbox right now, oozing on the other emails, growling reeeeeeaaaaaaaad mmmmmeeeeeee.
Once these things are hatched they want to run free, find a new home among their macabre kin, preferably between the covers of a WEP anthology.

As long as everyone is obeying the formatting rules, there won't be any issues. You can send your story in any time you'd like.
The issues with Volume one have been a real eye opener!

1) Only a FEW reprints will be accepted
2) Once we hit 100 signed contracts/acceptances this collection will be closed
3) If no bio is received--no bio will be included
We are officially starting to read for this collection now that Volume 1 is going to print within the month.
