WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Suspenseful stories of intrigue, mystery, espionage, and of course-ransom. These stories can take place in any time period and don't have to be on this planet. Looking for creative insight, not traditional mystery and suspense- shake it up and make it new. We want stories that make us question everyone’s purpose, make us look at the darker side of the world, and wonder why. This is a collection of stories to be enjoyed by everyone, please keep excessive cussing and sex out unless integral to your character.
WHAT WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR:
Slash and hack, blood and gore for their own sake. Graphic rape, torture, child abuse, and animal torture have their place, but not here.
We prefer stories written in the third person—will consider first person if you knock our socks off.
Looking for short stories in the 3,500- 7,000 word range, but will consider stories from 1,500-10,000 words.
Payment is 1 contributor's copy upon publication.
Submissions will be accepted until September 30, 2010 Midnight (EST)
Tentative Release Date: November 2010

the subject line of your email. Follow standard manuscript formatting and
attach your submission in .rtf
format. Submissions pasted in the body of email will be rejected, unread.

Getting some interesting takes on this idea, not your typical "ransom" stories. Love the creativity that flows through peoples brains.
Awesome, should make for an interesting read! I'm on the shortlist for this one so can't wait to find out more!!!!

Thanks for your support Em. I know these seem to be taking a long time to go anywhere...but as I opened the subs MANY months before deadline, there is still a wait.

**Just as a note to everyone who has submitted**
With the exception of the flash anthologies--there will be no final decisions till deadlines. I know there have been subs for anthologies that close the end of 2011 and I've gotten questions. If you find a market that is closing sooner and would rather submit there, please just send us an email requesting withdraw and we'll take your story out of consideration.

Submission Period Closing in 1 1/2 months. I'm going through subs again, re-reading, and re-evaluating the current short list.
I am on the short list for this, I have had my fingers crossed since I heard. It looks like a brilliant book, lots of different possibilities here.
